MR. CHARLES K. PRATHER
Mr. Charles K. Prather, 82, of Hogansville, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015, at his home.
Mr. Prather was born December 2, 1932, son of the late George Dempsey Prather and Christine White Prather. A veteran of service in the U.S. Navy, he lived in Hogansville most of his life, and retired as a production scheduler from Uniroyal-Goodrich/Westek after 34 years of service. He had received his 50-Year Award from Hogansville Masonic Lodge #93 and was a member of Highland Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for 52 years and directed the choir for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Prather; daughter and son in-law, Robyn and Hilton Odom; son and daughter in-law, Chuck and Susie Prather; all of Hogansville; grandchildren, Matt Odom, Scott and Sandy Odom, Dale and Holly Prather, Shannon and Melanie Brock, Erin and Scotty Hanner all of Hogansville, James and Anna Odom of LaGrange; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 19, at Highland Baptist Church in Hogansville, with the Reverend Terry Rainwater officiating.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 2 until 3 Sunday afternoon.
