MR. CHARLES DON MALLORY
Mr. Charles Don Mallory, 78, of LaGrange, died Monday, November 26, 2012, at his home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 29, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with Minister Ken May officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Wednesday night.
Mr. Mallory was born July 8, 1934, in LaGrange, son of the late Charles Watson Mallory and Linnie Thornton Mallory. He retired as a Staff Sergeant from the U. S. Air Force and returned to LaGrange in 1968, where he then served 24 years with the Troup County Sheriff's Dept., retiring as chief investigator. He was one of the first two graduates to receive a degree in criminal justice from LaGrange College. A member of Oakside Baptist Church, Mr. Mallory loved baseball, was an avid Braves fan, enjoyed building things, but mostly enjoyed being with his family.
Survivors include his sons and daughters in-law, Keith and Kim Mallory, Michael Mallory, all of LaGrange, Gary and Meatha Mallory of Auburn, AL, Kerry and Elaine Mallory of West Point, Charles B. and Kristin Mallory of LaGrange; sister, Reva Mallory Thornton of Roanoke, AL; brother, Emory (Pete) Mallory of LaGrange; a cousin he considered a sister, Hazel Owens of LaGrange; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Anne Holder Mallory; children, Lorrie Mallory Seymour, Charles Donald Mallory, Jr., Janet Renee Mallory; and brother, Larry Aaron Mallory.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
