CHARLES AUSTIN ELEY, SR.
Mr. Charles Austin Eley, Sr., 72, of Newnan and formerly of LaGrange, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 29, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jerry Eley will officiate and interment will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange.
Mr. Eley was born July 4, 1938, in Centralhatchee, son of the late Howard Awbrey Eley and the late Irma Marshall Eley. An Army veteran, he lived in LaGrange most of his life before making his home in Newnan in 2010, and was retired from Milliken and Company. He was a member of Creekside Baptist Church and Long Cane Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his daughter, Hope Barber of Newnan; son, Charles Austin Eley, Jr. of Hogansville; step-son, William Alexander, of Jennings, MO; step-daughters, Janet Geter and Rosemary Abbott, both of LaGrange, Sherry Carter of Hogansville, and Penney Pierce of Florida; four grandchildren, Heather and John Ketchum, Jessica Benefield and Jared Carter, Joshua Barber, and Patricia Bailey; six great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.

Services: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 29th, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home
Interment: Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange
