MR. FULLER COMBS
Mr. Charles Fuller Combs, 93, of Moreland, died Friday, August 3, 2012, at LaGrange Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 6, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jerry Eley will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The Newnan Police Department Color Guard and the Coweta County Sheriff's Rifle Team will serve as pallbearers and provide military honors at the graveside.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 until 2 Monday afternoon.
Mr. Combs was born June 12, 1919, in Heard County, son of the late Charlie and Leola Middlebrooks Combs. An Army veteran of World War Two, he lived in Coweta County most of his life and retired from the Pepsi Cola Co. in Newnan. He was a member of the Cattlemen's Association and Moreland First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Combs; daughters and sons in-law, Helen and Eddie Williford of Newnan, Faye and Sid Newton of Moreland, Gail Beall of Lilburn; son, Charles and Sally Combs of Atlanta; step-daughter, Charlene and Michael Stitcher of Woodbury; step-sons, Lamar and Brenda Veal of Winston-Salem, NC, Monroe and Janice Veal of Grantville; sisters, Ouida Seymour of Dalton, Martha Grubbs of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Donna Burger, Paula Godfrey, Jason Newton, Joshua Newton, Alicia Hornsby; seven great-grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; and ten step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Margie Bonner Combs.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
