Charles H. Billingsley, Sr.

Mr. Charles H. Billingsley, Sr., 77, of Pine Mountain, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022.

Mr. Billingsley was born December 14, 1944, in West Point, son of the late Sam Nealy Billingsley and Wilma Minter Billingsley. A veteran of service in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, he retired as a facilities manager from Dobbins Air Force Base after serving thirty years in federal civil service. He lived in Troup County most of his life, was a member and deacon of Creekside Baptist Church where he played bass, and was a member of Turkey Creek Gospel group. Mr. Billingsley had many hobbies, including music, hunting, woodworking, and furniture building.

Survivors include his wife, Lea Billingsley of Pine Mountain; sons, Charles, Jr. and Angela Billingsley of Prattville, AL, Michael and Dena Billingsley of Pine Mountain; grandchildren, Amber Tucker, Chelsea Laster, William Billingsley, Melissa Gliddon, Adam Billingsley; great-grandchildren, Charles Brooks Laster, Mary Grace Tucker, Macie Tucker, Lacie Tucker, Jessica Kylie Tucker; sisters, Doris and Dr. Joseph Almand of LaGrange, Betty and Richard Avery of Pine Mountain, Cindy Adams of Hogansville; brothers, Frank Billingsley of Valley, AL, Kenneth and Judy Billingsley of Heflin, AL, Neal and Allene Billingsley of LaGrange; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Williamson, and his brother, Donald Billingsley.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Scotty Fowler and the Reverend Brian Geter will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Monday night.
