Mrs. Charlene Plant Douglas, 93 of Vernon, Texas passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in Vernon, Texas.

Mrs. Douglas was born February 21, 1930 in Hogansville, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Billy Waller Plant. She was the wife of James Clark Douglas, who passed away in 1986. Charlene graduated from the Charity Nursing School at Charity Hospital as a Registered Nurse when she was nineteen years old. She worked for Charity Hospital and Kaiser Foundation Hospital, and was the Director of Nursing for several nursing homes. After moving to Vernon, she worked as an RN for the Vernon State Hospital. She was also a member of Western Trail Cowboy Church in Lockett, Texas.

Mrs. Douglas is survived by two daughters, Cathy Fox of Vernon, Texas, and Libby Moser of Lakewood, Colorado; three grandchildren, Jeremy Moser, J. D. Fox, and Chelsey Henry; great-granddaughter, Palmer Kate Henry; and great-grandson, Dino Moser. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Jason Moser.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 8, in Grantville Cemetery, with Bryson Henry officiating.
