MSGT Cecil Clinton Perkins (USAF ret.), 91, of LaGrange, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, at his home.
Mr. Perkins was born December 15, 1933, in Hogansville, son of the late Willie Fowler Perkins and Cecil Johnson Perkins. A veteran of service during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, he retired as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of service. He returned to make his home in Troup County following his military retirement and owned and operated Clint's Appliance Repair and was a member of Pleasant Grove Community Church. He was very patriotic and is remembered as an humble and awesome family man and friend, who was always doing something for his family and his community.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Perkins of LaGrange; daughters, Patricia Diann Perkins Lawrence (James G. Lawrence) of Opelika, AL, Carol Louise Perkins Wallace of LaGrange, and Dolores Jane Perkins Tomlinson (Nathan Tomlinson), of Hogansville; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Sue Thompson of LaGrange. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Seba Ann Perkins Lanier; and brothers, William R. "Bill" Perkins, Harwell Lee Perkins, and Rufus "Buck" Perkins.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 16, at Pleasant Grove Community Church. The Reverend Larry Bird and the Reverend Chad Hill will officiate and interment will be in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery with full military honors.
The family will receive friends at the church from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Community Church.
