Mr. Cecil C. Barber, 82, of Luthersville, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021.
Mr. Barber was born July 1, 1938, in Meriwether County, son of the late Carl and Mary Cook Barber. A veteran of service in the U.S. Army and a member of Bethel Baptist Church, he lived in Meriwether County most of his life, was employed as a tool and die machinist for William L. He was known to be able to repair anything from well pumps, lawnmowers, vehicles, tractors, small appliances, to even the occasional bulldozer. Mr. Barber loved flowers and plants, enjoyed vegetable gardening, grafting trees, and watching the hummingbirds. He was very humble, never complained, was described by one friend as a walking encyclopedia, and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others when asked.
