Casernell T. Smith

Mrs. Casernell Smith, 80, of Hogansville, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, at her home. Mrs. Smith was born August 13, 1941, in Griffin, daughter of the late Joseph Walter Thompson and Mattie Lee Smith Thompson. A former resident of Grantville, she was a longtime member of Grantville First Baptist Church and was an avid reader. Her family was the center of her life and she loved caring for her children, grandchildren, and their families. Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Veronica and Thomas Rogers of Hogansville; sons and daughter in-law, Cliff Smith, Jr. of Franklin, Joseph and Janine Smith of Grantville, Clint Smith of LaGrange; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph Argo of Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cliff (J C) Smith, Sr.; and her sister, Nancy Inez Kramer. The family will plan a time to gather at the home of Veronica and Thomas Rogers in Hogansville to celebrate the life of Mrs. Smith.
