Mrs. Carolyn Shelnutt Watson, 81, of Hogansville, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, at Twin Fountains Home in LaGrange.
Mrs. Watson was born December 7, 1943, in LaGrange, daughter of the late John Thomas Shelnutt and Bessie Eley Shelnutt. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, she owned and operated Carolyn's Beauty Shop and Carolyn's Florist for a number of years and later worked as a florist for Kroger. She was Baptist by faith, enjoyed being with her family, and loved watching westerns.
Survivors include her son and daughter in-law, Greg and Cindy Tucker of Hogansville; grandsons, Greg Tucker, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer of LaGrange, and Jonathan Tucker of Hogansville; great-grandchildren, Abagail Tucker, Ryley Tucker, Fisher Tucker, Nolan Tucker, Tatum Tucker, J J Tucker, Bentley Tucker, Lexi Tucker, Iziah Tucker; and great-great-grandchildren, Karter Tucker, Kaison Tucker, and Ryder Nunis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William T. "Sonny" Watson; son, Tray Tucker; and brother, Freeman Shelnutt.
A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery, with Kevin Wegienka officiating.
The family will greet friends at the cemetery.
