Carolyn Murphy Shelnutt

MRS. CAROLYN SHELNUTT Mrs. Carolyn Murphy Shelnutt, 64, of Hogansville, died Thursday, November 22, 2012, at UniHealth Post-Acute Care of Greenville. Mrs. Shelnutt was born March 23, 1948, in Carrollton, daughter of the late Gordon Ernest Murphy and Mae Belle Pitts Murphy. A resident of Hogansville most of her life, she was a talented artist who enjoyed painting and drawing, was an avid Elvis fan, enjoyed playing the piano, and was a gifted vocalist. Survivors include her husband, Jervis Shelnutt of Hogansville; daughter and son in-law, Rhonda and Glenn Henkel of Sharpsburg; and sons, Rodney Shelnutt and Rusty Shelnutt, both of Hogansville. A private family service will be held later. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
