Mrs. Carol A. Brown, of Hogansville, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at her home.
Mrs. Brown was born July 17, 1941, in Atlanta, daughter of the late Daniel P. Coker and Carol Bonnell McMichen Coker. A resident of Hogansville most of her life, she was employed by Woodbury Business Forms in LaGrange before working in banking in Hogansville, where she served as branch manager for Fulton Federal, which later became Newnan Savings Bank then BB&T. She was an active member for many years of the Hogansville High School Booster Club and was a sponsor for the cheerleaders and majorettes. She was a talented artist and enjoyed painting, was a member of Faith Baptist Church in LaGrange, and was a former member of the Hogansville Kiwanis Club and the Hogansville Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include her daughters, Tammy Hooks and her husband Larry Hooks of Hogansville, Patricia Smith and her husband Rick Smith of Newnan; son, Johnny H. (JB) Brown, Jr. and his wife Angie Brown of Hogansville; grandchildren, Keith Brown (Hailey), Amy Brown, Natalie Brown, Dale Prather (Holly); great-grandchildren, Anabelle Pollard, Amelia Pollard, Emerson Brown, Nathan Prather, Nolan Prather, Eli Brown, Zeke Brown, Ty Brown, Ollie Brown, Abraham Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny H. Brown, Sr., sisters, Jeri Bliss, Dani Palmer; and brother, Richard Coker.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 31, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Brad Thompson will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday.
