MRS. CAROL B. ADKINSON Mrs. Carol B. Adkinson, 76, of Hogansville, died Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Hospice LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, at Piney Grove Baptist Church at Fairburn, with the body placed in the church at noon. The Reverend Jerry Plott will officiate and interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Union City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Monday night. Mrs. Adkinson was born March 17, 1934, in Wilcox County, daughter of the late William Ernest Lashley and the late Helen Taylor Lashley. A longtime resident of the Fairburn area, she lived at Abbeville before making her home at Hogansville in 2004. She retired from Sara Lee Corporation in Peachtree City, was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and Harrisonville Baptist Church, and was the wife of the late John Dempsey Adkinson. Survivors include, her daughter and son in-law, Jackie and Donnie Gray, of Hogansville; son and daughter in-law, Jessie and Mandy Adkinson, of Fitzgerald; brother, Douglas Lashley, of Franklin; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice LaGrange, 1510 Vernon Rd., LaGrange, GA 30240. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 8 Monday night, March 14th, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Services: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 15th, at Piney Grove Baptist Church at Fairburn Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Union City
