Mrs. Bonnie Barlow Murphy, of Lawrenceville and formerly of Greenville, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017, at New Horizons Limestone Nursing Facility in Gainesville.
Born May 17, 1924, in Tuscaloosa, AL, Mrs. Murphy was the daughter of the late Walter and Pauline Mills Barlow. She lived in Greenville for 70 years before making her home with her son in Lawrenceville in 2014, retired from the Greenville Post Office after 30 years of service, was a member of Greenville Baptist Church, and had served as a Scout leader. She enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, and bowling.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Coonley and her husband Kirk of Charlotte, NC; son, Robert D. Murphy III and his wife Debbie of Lawrenceville; sister, Janice Crawford of Tuscaloosa, AL; grandchildren, Jana Blake, Daniel Coonley, Robert Patrick Murphy; great-grandchildren, Anna Argabright, Allie Argabright, Lainee Murphy, Ryder Murphy; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Daniel (Pat) Murphy, Jr.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 29, at Greenville Baptist Church. The Reverend Jonathan Porter will officiate and interment will be in the Greenville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Greenville Baptist Church from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Tuesday.
