Bobby Joe Lankford

Mr. Bobby J. Lankford, 81, of Hogansville, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center. Born August 14, 1940, in Hogansville. Mr. Lankford was the son of the late Roy and Mattie Sue Bryant Lankford. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 until 1962, lived in California and Florida before returning to Hogansville, and retired from Botex Manufacturing. He was a member of American Legion Post 152 in Hogansville, was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed fishing, shooting and guns, gambling, and playing pool. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Lankford of Hogansville; son, Richard (Elaine) Lankford of Vidalia, CA; son in-law, Wayne (Lora) Norwood of Hogansville; grandchildren, Ericka (Blake) Pitman, Tara (Marco) Garcia, Mallory Norwood (Blake Head), Derrick (Chelsea) Lankford, Rikki Lankford, Nichole Lankford, Jessie Lankford; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Norwood, Kolton Head, Keeton Head, Kyle Head, Kynzlee Garcia, Esmeralda Garcia, Maddie Pitman, Rylan Pitman, Lily Pitman, Harlin Lankford, Hazen Lankford, Keagun Lankford. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Lankford Norwood; sister, Maggie Ferrell; brothers, Roy W. Lankford, Alvin "Boots" Lankford; and former wives, Barbara Lankford, Linda Lankford, Mary Lou Lankford. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 25, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Dr. George Bailey will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
