MR. JACK KENT Mr. Bobby Jack Kent, 74, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Piedmont Fayette Hospital. Mr. Kent was born May 26, 1941 in Meriwether County, son of the late Robert Louie Kent and Odessa Betts Kent. A longtime resident of Heard County, he was a retired remodeling contractor, was a member of Hogansville Masonic Lodge 93, and was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church. Mr. Kent and his wife were founding directors and faithful workers at God's Bread Basket Food Closet in Hogansville. Survivors include his wife, Johnie Kent of Franklin; daughter, Dr. Jody Sloat and her husband, Matthew of LaGrange; sons and daughters in-law, Bob and Linda Kent, Jay and Anitra Kent, all of Franklin; sisters, Kathryn Christian of Huntsville, AL, Bonnie Morgan and her husband, James of Sierra Vista, AZ; brothers, R. L. (Skeet) Kent, Jr. and his wife, Virginia of Hogansville, Leroy (Buck) Kent and his wife, Barbara of Conyers; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a special niece, Ann Devereaux of Portland, OR. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 12, at Corinth United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Darris Baker, the Reverend Willow Heim, and the Reverend Richard Campbell officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to God's Bread Basket, %Willow Heim, 102 Johnson St., Hogansville, GA 30230. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Services: 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 12th, at Corinth United Methodist Church, with a reception immediately following in the church fellowship hall
