Mr. Bobby J. Gore, 92, of Thomaston, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Thomaston Manor in Thomaston.

Born June 1, 1932, in Cobb County, Mr. Gore was the son of the late Joseph Quillan Gore and Vassie Holliman Gore. He had lived in Lithia Springs for fifty years before making his home in Thomaston in 2012, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Thomaston. Prior to his move to Thomaston he was a member/deacon at Union Grove Baptist Church in Lithia Springs. He loved his camping club and square-dancing group. He served in the US Navy in 1951 and retired from Georgia Flush Door Sales.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and his beloved wife of 68 years, Jessie Bell Gore.

Survivors include his son, Dennis Gore (Judy), of Thomaston; grandchildren, Hunter (Stephanie) Gore of Midland and Benjamin (Philicia) Gore of Barnesville; step-grandchildren, Bubba (Claudia) Graham of Eastman, Alex (Mary) Graham of Decatur, AL, and Chris (Crystal) Graham of Hoover, AL; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive in addition to his friends at Thomaston Manor.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 26, in the Chapel of Clade A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Brian McPherson and the Reverend Ken Hennesy will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel To Towers Fouondation or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
