Bobby G. Denney

Mr. Bobby G. Denney, 78, of Grantville, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at Bethany House in Auburn, AL. Mr. Denney was born October 10, 1941, son of the late Ralph and Erma Denney. A resident of Coweta County for many years, he retired as a repairman from Grant's Vending Company in Griffin and was a Mason. He was a tinkerer and loved to work, enjoyed dirt-track racing and wrestling, and especially loved playing the guitar and spending time with his dog, Chico. Survivors include his daughters, Candace Colston and her fiancée George Hare of Acworth, Sandy Phillips and her husband Jeff Phillips of White, Melissa Laster and her husband Bobby Laster, Jr. of Five Points, AL; sister, Diane Duffey of Griffin; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Barber Denney; his son, Bobby Denney, Jr.; and a granddaughter. A family funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 1, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with limited seating available. The Reverend Horace Harper will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday, with social distancing observed. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
