BILLY JOE BOOKER Mr. Billy Joe Booker, 69, of LaGrange, died Monday, November 23, 2009, at West Georgia Medical Center. The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 25, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Born May 13, 1940, in Simpson County, KY, Mr. Booker was the son of the late Harry and Joe Evelyn Butt Booker. He was a 1958 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School, received a B.S. degree in 1962 from Western Kentucky University, and then signed with the Buffalo Bills professional football team. He graduated from Kentucky School of Mortuary Science in 1964 and served 26 years as a funeral director and embalmer, retiring in 1990. Survivors include his wife, Paulette Booker of LaGrange; daughters, Branda Booker of Owensboro, KY, Berrie Crump of Clarksville, TN, and Buffy Bales of Nashville, TN; step-daughter, Tiffany Gay; step-son, Lee Griffin, both of LaGrange; sisters, Harriet Cummings of Lebanon, TN and Linda Booker of Franklin, KY; brother, Bobby Booker of Bartlett, TN; grandchildren, Nikki, Matt, Wesley, Matthew, Jacob, Taylor, and Amber; and close friends, Dr. John Kelly of Franklin, KY and Bill Dobbs of Louisville, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia, 6065 Roswell Rd., #515, Atlanta, GA 30328-4011. Claude A.
