Mrs. Billie Sue Leverett, of Moreland and formerly of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at her home.
Mrs. Leverett was born January 25, 1936, in Brantley, Alabama, daughter of the late Bud Mack Stricklin and Jewel Powell Stricklin. A resident of Greenville most of her life, she had enjoyed playing bridge and tennis, and had served as a children's Sunday School teacher at Greenville Baptist Church for many years. She loved her family and especially loved being with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, William H. "Bill" Leverett of Moreland; daughters, Leslie Bailey Parkerson, Linda Lee Gasses and her husband Cy Gasses, all of Greenville; grandchildren, James Leverett Bailey, William Zachary Bailey, Anna Gasses Coleman, Rachel Gasses Williford, and Art Gasses; and great-grandchildren, Sophia Coleman, Ruby Williford, and Griffin Gasses. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Livingston Bailey who passed away in April of this year; and by her great-granddaughter, Charleston Kate Gasses.
A private family service will be held and private interment will be in the Greenville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charitable organization.
