Beula "MiMi" Pike Smith, 87, of Douglasville, went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2018, peacefully at home.
She was born on May 5, 1931 in Hogansville, daughter of the late Lewis and Ada Brazell Pike. Beula spent her life as a dedicated nurse, her children often speculating she'd forgotten more than most doctors ever learned. Those who knew her best frequently requested and coveted her faithful prayers. Many have been blessed by her inherent generosity, leaving quite a legacy.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, William Franklin Smith; two daughters, Venus Louise and Mary Martha; great-grandson Elijah Lamar Holland; son-in-law, Dennis Milligan; siblings, Martha McRae, Bill Pike, Frances Traylor, Louise Brown and Richard Pike; niece, Rebecca Smith.
Mrs. Smith is survived by daughters and sons in-law, Princess April Milligan, Kandy and Terry Holland, Angel Smith, Hope and Jeff Hayes; grandchildren, Tyson, Nathaniel, Elyse, Brandy, Ginger, Jessica, Daniel and Chase; great-grandchildren Haley, Madison, Elexis, Abigail, Noah, Logan and Sarah; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Clinton Perkins and their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with the Reverend Randall Hodge officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2 Wednesday afternoon.
The family would also like to thank the wonderful and caring teams from Tanner Hospice and Lifetime Family Medicine. They are appreciated more than they know.
