Mrs. Betty Jo Spradlin, 92, of Hogansville, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Florence Hand Home in LaGrange.
Mrs. Spradlin was born March 29, 1929, in Thomaston, daughter of the late Joseph Daniel Landers and Ruby Medley Landers. A resident of Hogansville most of her life, she was a homemaker and served as a substitute teacher in the Hogansville Schools for a number of years. She was Pentecostal by faith and was always active in church, serving as a Sunday School teacher and a youth choir leader. She was very artistic, enjoyed writing poetry, and loved music.
Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Joy and Nelson Martin of LaGrange; son and daughter in-law, Ken and Marsha Spradlin of Hogansville; brother and sister in-law, Jack and Marie Landers of Acworth; grandchildren, Erica and Weston Williford, Rachel and Roger Messerly, Dan and Mariana Martin; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Spradlin.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 14, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Weston Williford and Dr. Richard Hanner will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday.
