MRS. BETTY CLOTEAL HUMPHRIES
Mrs. Betty Cloteal Humphries, of the St. Marks Community of Meriwether County and Montgomery, Alabama, died Saturday, October 4, 2014, at her home in Montgomery.
Mrs. Humphries was born September 22, 1932, in Alexander City, Alabama, daughter of the late Owen and Vera Mask Gray. A former resident of Sylacauga, Alabama, she had lived in St. Marks since 1993, where she was a member of Union Baptist Church. She enjoyed all sports, was an avid Auburn Tigers fan and enjoyed watching Jeff Gordon, the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Falcons.
Survivors include her son, Mike King of Montgomery; a step-son, Paul and Linda Humphries of Sylacuaga; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was the wife of the late Harris Lamar Humphries, Jr. and was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ruben K. King.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 7, at Union Baptist Church. The Reverend Bill Smith will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. In addition, the family would like to express sincere appreciation to the staff of McGehee Park Apartments in Montgomery.
