Betty Plant Eason

Mrs. Betty Plant Eason, 80, of East Ellijay and formerly of Grantville, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017, at Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain Hospice in Marietta. Mrs. Eason was born April 19, 1936, in Grantville, daughter of the late B.C. and Mattie Stevens Plant. A resident of Grantville most of her life, she lived in East Ellijay for ten years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Ellijay. She retired as a customer service agent for William L. Bonnell Co. and was a former member of the Newnan Pilot Club. Survivors include her sons, Rick Griffies and his wife Annette of Jasper, Greg Griffies of Ellijay; step-children, Mitch Eason of Grantville, Ricky Eason of Raleigh, NC, Bekki Komas of Wendell, NC; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Eason. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 26, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jay Moore will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Saturday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
