Mrs. Betty Brown Daniel, 80, of the Lone Oak Community of Meriwether County, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.
Mrs. Daniel was born August 16, 1936, in Heard County, daughter of the late Melvin and Thelma Gladney Brown. A resident of Lone Oak since 1954, she retired from NationsBank in LaGrange after 36 years of service and then served as internal auditor for Greenville Banking Company. She was a member of Allen-Lee Memorial United Methodist Church in Lone Oak and served as Lone Oak City Clerk for a number of years.
Survivors include her husband, Alfred Daniel of Lone Oak; daughter and son in-law, Peggy and Jack Parker of Hogansville; son, Tim Daniel of Candler, North Carolina; sisters, Frankie McNeely of Gainesville, Anne and Danny Burke of LaGrange; granddaughters, Susan and Kevin Banks of Lone Oak, Karen Parker of North Pole, Alaska; and great-granddaughter, Mary Parker Banks.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 16, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Michael McFarlin and the Reverend Winston Skinner will officiate and interment will be in Allen-Lee Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Saturday night.
