Mrs. Beth Williams Drake, 73, of Hogansville, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.
Mrs. Drake was born February 2, 1950, in Dothan, Alabama, daughter of the late Raymond and Nevadah Ludlum Williams. A resident of Hogansville since 1971, she was a retired educator and served as a high school teacher in the Hogansville and Troup County School Systems for more than 30 years. She earned a Bachelor of Education degree from West Georgia College and a Masters of Education from Troy State University.
Beth loved flowers, she loved sunny days and the ocean, and she loved her dogs Maxx and Black Dog. She was kind to all living things, from the tiniest of bugs---she knew everything had a purpose in life. She loved her family and saw the good in everyone even when they couldn't. She just loved, and will be so missed.
Survivors include her husband, James D. Drake, Sr. of Hogansville; daughters, Stacy Miles (Jason) of Hogansville, Shana Drake of LaGrange; son, James D. Drake, Jr. (Brandi) of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Caleb Drake (Paige), Claudia Robinson (C J), Anna Andrews (Bruce), Logan Drake, Emily Drake, Jacob Miles; and great-grandchildren, Kade Drake and Oakley Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jimmie Beth Drake.
The family will plan a memorial gathering at a later time to celebrate Beth's life.
In lieu of flowers, please adopt a pet or make a donation to the local humane society or the local FFA or just give someone a hug or say a kind word. Be someone's reason to smile.
