Bernice Knight Prescott

Mrs. Bernice Knight Prescott, 95, of Hogansville, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at LaGrange Nursing and Rehab. Mrs. Prescott was born February 6, 1924, in Haralson County, daughter of the late Earl David Knight and Clara Jane Brown Knight. A resident of Troup County since 1942, she was a dedicated pastor's wife to her late husband during his sixty years of ministry as they served churches in LaGrange, Piedmont, AL, and Hogansville. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church. Survivors include her grandson, Shane Prescott; daughter in-law, Elaine Prescott; great-grandchildren, Shawn Prescott, Hope Prescott, Elizabeth Prescott, Katie Prescott; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Dr. R. C. Prescott; and her son, Judge L. Gwen Prescott. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 1, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Eddie Perry will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2 Friday afternoon. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
