Bernice E. Carden

MRS. BERNICE E. CARDEN Mrs. Bernice Edmondson Carden, 94, of LaGrange, died Friday, April 30, 2010, at Twin Fountains Home. Born June 26, 1915, in Randolph County, AL, Mrs. Carden was the daughter of the late James Elbert and Mendie Johnson Edmondson. She was a member of East LaGrange Baptist Church, was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and retired from West Point Pepperell Dixie Mill. Survivors include grandchildren, Sherry Humphries and her husband, Ronnie, Ricky Carden and his wife Tina, all of LaGrange, Ramona Willingham of Panama City, FL, and Melissa Carden of Columbus; great-grandsons, Allen and Melinda Golden and Bryan Carden, of LaGrange; sisters, Ruth Ray of Montgomery, AL and Hazel Studdard of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey F. Carden; son, Larry F. Carden; and brothers, Bryant Edmondson, Brewer Edmondson, Herman Edmondson, and Bunion Edmondson. A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, at East LaGrange Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bobby Robinson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Twin Fountains Home, Activity Fund Account, 1514 Vernon Rd., LaGrange, GA 30240. Claude A.
