Bennie Thompson

Mr. Bennie Thompson, age 70, of West Point, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Amicasa Hospice in Decatur.

Mr. Thompson was born July 11, 1956, in Franklin, son of the late Helen Christine East Thompson and Newmon Artis Thompson. He was raised in Hogansville, attended Hogansville Schools, and was a retired truck driver. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed working in his yard, and loved watching his grandchildren participate in sports activities.

Survivors include his children, Christina Caldwell (Nicholas) of West Point, Tiffany Thompson of Roanoke, AL, Kyle Thompson (Jennifer) of LaGrange; grandchildren, Sydney (Luke), Lofton, Madison, Ezekiel, and Mason; sister, Joyce Laster (Randall) of Five Points, AL; and brother, Buddy Thompson (Lisa) of Carrollton; and his wife, Angela Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother, David Thompson.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 9, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Landon Thompson will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 8.
