Mrs. Rebecca McIntosh Prince, 82, of Gay, passed away Monday, September 29, 2025, at Piedmont Fayette Hospital.
Mrs. Prince was born December 23, 1942, in Princeton, West Virginia, daughter of the late Larry and Dorothy McIntosh. A resident of Meriwether County for the past 30 years, she was an active member of Luthersville Baptist Church and dearly loved her church and her church family. She loved and pampered her horses, enjoyed working in her yard and caring for her flowers and plants, and spent her life volunteering to help others at church, at schools, and at hospitals. She had especially enjoyed volunteering at High Hope Farm providing horseback riding and outdoor activities for special needs and underprivileged children.
Survivors include her husband, James A. Prince of Gay; daughter and son in-law, Monica and Kenneth Marks of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jeremy Dalton (Taunya), Taylor Marks Leathers (Sam), and Tyler Marks (Erin); and great-grandchildren, Wesley Leathers, Arthur Leathers, Natalie Leathers, and Micah Marks soon to arrive.. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Allen Prince.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 4, at Luthersville Baptist Church. Pastor Justin Gill and Pastor John Pape will officiate and interment will be in Luthersville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., Saturday, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Luthersville Baptist Church.
