MRS. BARBARA P. SMITH Mrs. Barbara Pitts Smith, 78, of Carrollton, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at Haralson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bremen. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 21, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with interment in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 until 6 Sunday afternoon. Born September 16, 1933, in Hogansville, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Willie and Hosie Knight Pitts. She lived in Hogansville before making her home in Carrollton in 1969, was a member of Highland Baptist Church, and was retired from Wal-Mart in Carrollton. Survivors include her son and daughter in-law, Brian and Sherry Smith of Carrollton; grandsons, Jason Smith, Justin Smith and Eric Smith; and her step-sister, Alma Wheelus of Hogansville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Julian L. Smith; her son, Mike Smith; and her step-mother, Nellie Green Pitts. Claude A.
