Barbara Ann Montgomery

January 7, 1938 — April 28, 2026

Hogansville

Mrs. Barbara Ann Davis Montgomery, age 88, of Hogansville, entered Heaven on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from her home.

Mrs. Montgomery was born January 7, 1938, in Hogansville, the daughter of the late William Boyd Davis and Parrie Robinson Davis. She was a longtime resident of Riverdale for 37 years and later lived in Cleveland, Tennessee, where she faithfully served alongside her husband with Rock of Ages Ministries. In 2005, she returned to Hogansville to make her home. She was a member of New Grace Baptist Church in Concord, North Carolina, where her son Allen pastors, and she had also attended Antioch Baptist Church in Hogansville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Montgomery. She is survived by her sons: Steve Montgomery (Pam) of Eufaula, AL; Kenneth Montgomery (Nancy) and David Montgomery (Ronda), both of Hogansville; Curtis Montgomery (Cindy) of Powder Springs; and Allen Montgomery (Lynn) of Concord, NC. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 31 great‑grandchildren (with two more expected); her sister, Judy Hudson (Henry) of Jonesboro; and sisters‑in‑law and brother‑in‑law, Phyllis Wegienka and Tyrone Montgomery (Janice).

Mrs. Montgomery’s life was forever changed when she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour in the early 1960s. She raised her boys in church, faithfully teaching Sunday School, serving in the nursery, and opening her home to pastors and visiting preachers with warm hospitality and home‑cooked meals. Though she worked outside the home in her later years—primarily in retail—her greatest calling and joy was being a devoted wife and mother to her five boys. Her sons are deeply grateful for the many sacrifices she made to ensure they were loved, supported, and cared for. She was not only an example to her children, but she faithfully loved and prayed for each of her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the nursing staff at Piedmont Hospital in Newnan, GA for their exceptional care, and to the staff of Eternal Faith Hospice in Carrollton, GA, for the compassionate support provided during the final weeks of her life. Their kindness was a blessing to both their mother and the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to one of the following:

• Antioch Baptist Church Youth Camp, 1142 Blue Creek Rd., Hogansville, GA 30230
