Barbara Jane Howell

Mrs. Barbara Jane Howell, 80, of Sharpsburg, passed away, Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Insignia of Newnan. Daughter of the late James Buford Huckaby and Christine Hunt Huckaby, Mrs. Howell spent her early years in Hapeville and was a 1957 graduate of Georgia Baptist School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse and was a member of New Gate Church in Sharpsburg. Survivors include her daughter, Edythe "Edye" Maxwell and her husband, Jim of Hogansville; grandchildren, Courtney Maxwell Pulley and her husband Ryan, and James Zachary Maxwell; brother and sister in-law, Larry and Carol Huckaby of Sharpsburg; sister in-law, Janet Huckaby of Douglasville; and brother in-law, W. A. Howell and his wife Nancy, also of Douglasville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband. Jimmy Ronald Howell, and her brother, Harry Huckaby. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 28, at the graveside in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan, with the Reverend Tom Rowe officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Monday night. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Insignia of Newnan and to Gentiva Hospice for the loving care provided to Mrs. Howell. Claude A.
