Arthur E. (Buddy) Smith, Jr.

MR. BUDDY SMITH  Mr. Arthur E. (Buddy) Smith, Jr., 72, of the Louise Community, died Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at his home. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 12, at Living Waters Baptist Church in LaGrange.  The Reverend Richard Clinard and the Reverend Tommy McLeroy will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville. Born September 6, 1936, in Troup county, Mr. Smith was the son of the late Arthur Ernest and Ella Emery Smith. He served in the U.S. Army, was retired from MDS Auto Exchange in Hogansville, and was a member of Living Waters Baptist Church in LaGrange. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Woodruff Smith of Louise; daughters and sons in-law, Kim and David Shirah of Troy, AL, Amy and Joey Chapman, Renea Bailey, and Monique and Patrick Bonner, all of Hogansville; step-daughter, Sandra Wynn of Newnan; step-sons, Kenneth Harris of Columbus and Phillip Harris of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Betty Galloway of Hogansville; brother, Roy Smith of Grantville; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Arthur Smith; daughter, Candy Dianne Smith; and grandson, Michael Wayne Bailey. Claude A.
