MR. ARTHUR E. PRINCE
Mr. Arthur E. Prince, 91, of Gay and formerly of Venice, FL, died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at his home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Tommy Worthey and the Reverend Joe Felder officiating. Interment will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 30, at Sarasota Memorial Park in Sarasota, FL.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 2:00 Wednesday afternoon.
Mr. Prince was born December 9, 1920, in Bainbridge, son of the late Walter Pryor Prince and the late Minnie Butler Prince. An Army veteran of World War Two, he was a retired homebuilder and lived in Florida from 1939 until making his home in Gay in 2004, was a member of Luthersville Baptist Church, and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed working with his hands, was an avid woodworker and was skilled in metal arts.
Survivors include his son and daughter in-law, James and Becky Prince of Gay; granddaughter, Monica Marks and her husband, Ken of Fayetteville; and three great-grandchildren, Jeremy Dalton of Cincinnati, OH, Taylor Marks and Tyler Marks, both of Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Nabors Prince, and his grandson, Allen Prince.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
