Arnold "Preacher" Gaddy, 71, of Hogansville, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Gaddy was born December 28, 1949, in Hogansville, son of the late John Benjamin Gaddy and Myrtie Lancaster Gaddy. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, he worked many years at LaGrange Plastics and retired from Dongwon Manufacturing. He was a longtime member of the West Georgia Football Officials Association, serving as a referee and umpire for area youth league, high school, and college football, baseball, and basketball games.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Gaddy of Hogansville; daughter, Pam and Keith Wegienka of LaGrange; sons, Bobby and Denise Gaddy, Chad and Kippi Gaddy, all of LaGrange; sisters, Janie Chipman and Barbara Webb both of Hogansville, Susan Hanner of LaGrange, Nellie Barkhouse of Goosecreek, SC; brothers, Clinton and Frances Gaddy and Chuck Gaddy, of Hogansville; seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Wesley Gaddy; grandson, Luke Gaddy; brothers and sisters, Thelma Peterson, Aubrey Gaddy, Bennie Gaddy, and Hazel Freeman.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, January 23, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with Brother Bo Foster and Sparky Smallwood officiating. Seating will be limited to the family.
Friends may visit the funeral home between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Saturday for viewing and signing the guest register.
