MR. ANTHONY BRUCE SMITH Anthony Bruce Smith, 62 of Lanett, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 in Pine Mountain. Mr. Smith was born July 24, 1958 in Albany. He worked for Mead for 28 years until it closed and then worked for ICS&M for the last 15 years. He was a longtime volunteer with the Troup County Fire Department, loved the outdoors, NASCAR, and Alabama Football. Survivors include his sons and daughters in-law, Jason and Crystal Smith of LaGrange, Justin and Amber Smith and Jonathan Smith, all of Hogansville; daughter, Hannah Sheppard; step son, Jonathan Paul Sheppard, both of Lanett; mother and step-father, Shirley and Ronald Caldwell of Woodbury; sister, Rochelle Looney of Dawsonville; brothers, Timmy Smith of Punkin, TN and Michael Caldwell of Woodbury; 11 grandchildren; and a special friend, Tammy Green of Pine Mountain. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Larry Smith; and his wife, Gail Smith. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 3, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Reverend Jeremy Sheppard will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
