Annie Laura Waldrop

Mrs. Annie Laura Waldrop, 92, of LaGrange, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021, at her home. Mrs. Waldrop was born January 20, 1929, in Griffin, daughter of the late Cecil and Maebell Kimball Cooper. A resident of Troup County most of her life, she was a Christian and enjoyed reading her Bible. She also enjoyed watching hummingbirds and butterflies and looking at pictures. Survivors include her daughter, Elaine Manning; sons, Donald R. Waldrop, Larry D. Waldrop and his wife, Dorothy, all of LaGrange; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren. She was god-mother to her niece, Shirley, and was preceded in death by her husband, George Daniel Waldrop, Sr., son, George Daniel Waldrop, Jr.; daughter, Laura Jean Smith; sister, Billie Hand; and brothers, Leon Cooper and Leroy Cooper. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Monday, July 19, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Eric Rice will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., Monday. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
