Mrs. Annette Elder Whatley, 69, of LaGrange, passed away Friday, January 1, 2016, at Hospice Atlanta at Emory University Hospital.
Mrs. Whatley was born May 12, 1946, in Newnan, daughter of the late Mark and Lou Ella Elder. She lived in Meriwether and Troup Counties most of her life, was Baptist by faith, and was the wife of the late Aubrey Lee Whatley. She dearly loved each member of her immediate and extended family and enjoyed helping them with any need they might have.
Survivors include her daughter, Joann Arrington of LaGrange; sons, Jamie Whatley and his wife, Crissy of Gay, Lee Whatley of LaGrange; sisters, Johnnie Mae Melton of Hogansville, Carolyn Floyd of Mount Sidney, VA; brother, Earnest Elder of Grantville; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Grady Elder and Virgil Elder.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 3, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jody Mitchell will officiate and interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Saturday night.
