Miss Angela N. ("Angie") Duke, age 78, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at LaGrange Nursing and Rehab, after a short illness. The daughter of the late L. D. and Hazel Elizabeth Evans Duke, she was born May 21, 1938 in LaGrange, GA.
Miss Duke attended LaGrange High School and, apart from a short residence in Chicago, had lived her entire life in LaGrange. She was a member of the Philadelphia Church of God. She was an amazingly gifted artist and worked for many years for Boyette Furniture, Debra Sargent Interior Design, and Susan Teaver Interior Design.
Miss Duke is survived by her sister-in-law Linda Duke, aunt Jettie Evans, special cousin Dianne Stogner, and several generations of loving nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Raymond, Jimmy, Nita; an infant sister, Emma Jean; and a nephew, Terry Duke.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 1, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Leonard Hodge will officiate and interment will be in the Mountville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday.
