MRS. AMELIA W. CHAPMAN
Mrs. Amelia White Chapman, 83, of Hogansville, died Friday, May 2, 2014, at her home.
Mrs. Chapman was born June 9, 1930, in Heard County, daughter of the late Joe Henry White and Pauline Denney White. She lived in Hogansville most of her life and was a member of Highland Baptist Church. She served as a substitute teacher in local schools for many years and was known and loved by a generation of Hogansville students.
Survivors include her husband, Herman E. Chapman of Hogansville; daughter and son in-law, Cathy and Tony Scott of Franklin; sons and daughters in-law, Ronnie and Susan Chapman, Mike and Lynn Chapman, Barry Chapman, Joey and Amy Chapman, all of Hogansville; brothers, Edward White of Newnan, Ken White of Fairburn; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Anita Keith. In addition to her children, her daughter in-law, Susan, and granddaughter, Angel served as caregivers.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 4, at Highland Baptist Church in Hogansville. The Reverend Terry Rainwater will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Saturday night.
