MR. CECIL YORK Mr. Cecil York, 88, of Greenville, died Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Florence Hand Home in LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 6, at New Hope Church in Meriwether County. The Reverend Kenneth Whitlock will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. York was born March 1, 1922, in Meriwether County, son of the late Aaron and Gertrude Wyche York. An Army veteran of World War Two, he was a lifelong resident of Meriwether County and was the retired owner of York TV in Woodbury. He was a founding trustee of Flint River Academy. Survivors include his daughter and son in-law, Anita and Casey Sears of Tuscaloosa, AL; sister, Jackie DeWalt of Huntsville, AL; brother, Bobby York of Tampa, FL; and two grandchildren, Madison Thomas Sears and Ella Morgan Sears. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 8 Friday night, March 5th, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville Services: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 6th, at New Hope Church in Meriwether County Interment: New Hope Cemetery
