Alton Dean Bowen, 59, of Greenville, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Mr. Bowen was born January 15, 1965, in LaGrange, son of the late Michael Dean Bowen and Gloria Flournoy Bowen Sistrunk. A veteran of service in the Army, he lived in Meriwether County most of his life, was a retired carpenter, and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was raised in the Greenville Baptist Church, was a member of Change Church in Grantville and the Faith Riders Ministry, and loved going on mission trips and working for his Lord.

Survivors include his son and daughter in-law, Christopher and Michele Bowen of Greenville; daughter, Ashley Johnson, son, Austin Johnson; two granddaughters, Gabriella and Gianna Goldstein, and several that called him their PawPaw. He is also survived by his sister and brother in-law, Virginia and Wayne Daniel of Greenville; and brothers and sister in-law, Jeff and Sherry Bowen of Carrollton and Scott Bowen of Greenville. In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Ronald Curtis "Butch" Sistrunk.

The family will receive friends for visitation and viewing at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 22.

The family will host a memorial service at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 28, at Change Church in Grantville, with Pastor TJ Boyd officiating.
