Mrs. Alice Eloise Hosmer Whitten, 77, of Hogansville, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Mrs. Whitten was born October 8, 1946, in Safford, Alabama, daughter of the late Thomas Monroe Hosmer and Rosie Eaton Hosmer. A resident of the Hogansville area most of her life, she was a homemaker and assisted her husband in the operation of their farming business, W&H Farm, and enjoyed raising cows and caring for her farm animals. She was a Christian and dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Whitten of Hogansville; daughter, Paula Smith and her husband Dustin Smith of Moreland; grandchildren, Will Brooks (son of Mark Brooks), Preston Smith, Kyleigh Smith, Emmalynn Smith; and sister, Ginny Duchesne of Hogansville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, John David Hosmer, Bud Hosmer, Hub Hosmer, Jim Hosmer, Bernice Coalson, Dood Hosmer, Gene Hosmer, Linda Mitchell, Lee Hosmer, Jerry Hosmer, and Bobby Hosmer.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 27, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Brian Hosmer will officiate and interment will be in Faith Baptist Church Cemetery in the Primrose Community of Meriwether County.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 26.
