Mrs. Alice Geter Wharton, 74, of LaGrange, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016, at her home.
Mrs. Wharton was born June 17, 1941, in Five Points, Alabama, daughter of the late Clarence Eugene Geter and Ester Fuller Geter. A resident of Texas for a number of years, she returned to Troup County in 1997 and was a member of Northside Baptist Church in LaGrange.
Survivors include her daughters, Hazel Elizabeth Hampton and her friend, Mark Fomby of LaGrange; Beth Ann Roman and her husband, Felix of Dade City, FL, Belinda Rachel Coates of St. Petersburg, FL; sons, James Franklin Wharton, Jr. and his wife, Debbie of LaGrange, David Leroy Wharton of Dade City, FL, Keith Allen Wharton and his wife, Joann of Newnan; grandchildren, Michael Hampton, Wayne Fomby, Kaitlyn Bartlett, Courtney Wharton, Melissa Milton, Deanna Wharton, Brayden Wharton, Jeffery Wharton, Cody Wharton, Nicholas Coates, Angel Coates; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Wharton, Sr.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later time and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
