Alfred Gaines East

ALFRED G. EAST Mr. Alfred G. East, 84, of Anniston, AL and formerly of Newnan, died Friday, July 11, 2008, at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 13, at the graveside in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan, with the Reverend Frank Powers officiating. Mr. East was born November 29, 1923, in LaGrange, son of the late Ben G. East and the late Blanche Powers East Rosser. An Air Force veteran of World War II, he lived in Coweta county most of his life, was a member of the Baptist church, and was a retired auto body and fender repairman. Survivors include his wife, Thelma East of Newnan; daughters and sons in-law, Linda Richards of Anniston, Lavina and Roger Breyfogle of Fitzgerald, Joyce and Lyn Walker of Jackson Gap, AL, Ann East, Sandy East, and Dale and Jeff Westbrook, all of Newnan; son, Larry East of Colorado; brother, Charles (Buck) East of Grantville; sisters, Dora Vargas of Tulsa, OK and Betty Harper of Jackson MS; eleven grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
