Alan Neal Washington

Mr. Alan Neal Washington, Sr., 67, of LaGrange, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022, at HCA Fort Walton Beach-Destin Hospital.

Mr. Washington was born January 10, 1955 in Greenville, son of the late Frank and Mary Faye Guthrie Washington. He was raised in Meriwether County, helped establish the Luthersville Fire Department, and was a retired over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed building and racing dirt track race cars, he loved being with his grandchildren, and he and his late wife enjoyed raising funds for special needs children and for local first responders.

Survivors include his children, Neal Washington and his wife Candace of Warm Springs, Mandy Washington of Columbus, Joseph Washington and his wife Stephanie of Mountville, Jonathan Washington of Dayton, OH, Julie Webster and her husband Ricky of Crestview, FL; grandchildren, Kaleb, Landon, Taylor, Cheyanne, Brianna, Robert, Kennedy, Stryker, Olivia, Wesley, Lauren, Jessica; brothers, Steve Washington of LaGrange, Mike Washington of Springhill, TN; sisters, Della Underwood of Newnan, Roxanne Westfield of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amy Washington, and his brothers, Joel Washington and Larry Washington.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Brandon Brooks will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday.
