Alan James Hosmer

Mr. Alan James Hosmer, 92, of Grantville, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at his home.

Mr. Hosmer was born April 26, 1931, in Ricksford, NY, son of the late Leroy and Frances Flanders Hosmer. A veteran of service in the U.S. Navy, he lived in Johnson City, TN before making his home in Grantville eight years ago, and was a retired insurance executive, having served as state manager for HBJ Insurance Company. He was a world traveler and had enjoyed traveling across the United States and other countries. Mr. Hosmer also enjoyed woodworking and serving as a square dance caller.

Survivors include his sons and daughters in-law, David and Sharon Ann Hosmer of Sparks, NV, Steven and Cathy Hosmer of Grow City, OH; brother, Richard Hosmer of The Lakes, FL; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Winnie Rose of Grantville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Jo Hosmer; sons, Alan Hosmer, Jr. and Bradley Hosmer; and sisters, Kathleen Irons and Marilyn Hosmer.

A memorial service is not being planned at this time.
