Today, many families choose to pre-plan and pre-pay for funeral services. The option of pre-planning provides peace of mind and allows many difficult decisions to be made when there is less stress and grief than when a death has occurred.
At Claude A. McKibben and Sons, some individuals prefer to state their wishes for funeral services and funeral merchandise, and to have their wishes recorded in writing at the funeral home. Other individuals, though, prefer to go a step further and assure that their final expenses will be paid, either through the use of insurance products---where insurance proceeds are available after a death has occurred to pay funeral expenses---or by pre-paying the funeral expenses to the funeral home.
When you pre-pay at our funeral home, you enter into a Pre-Need Funeral Service contract which is regulated by the Georgia Secretary of State’s office. One-hundred per cent of the funds that you pre-pay are deposited into an interest-bearing trust account, where all of the interest earned by that account remains in the account to off-set the effects of inflation over time.
