MR. TOM LASHLEY Mr. Tom Render (Virgil) Lashley, 59, of Franklin, died Sunday, January 25, 2009, at his home. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 28. in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Reverend Tina Lashley and the Reverend Ray Tarwater, Jr. will officiate and interment will be in the Corinth Cemetery. Mr. Lashley was born March 22, 1949, in West Point, and lived in Troup county before making his home in Heard county in 1985. He had been employed as a truck driver for G. E. Robinson Company and was a member of Cathedral of Praise in LaGrange. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Jean Tarwater Lashley of Franklin; daughters, Elizabeth Jean Lashley Whitfield and her husband Dexter, of Franklin and Faith Ann Lashley Haney and her husband David, of LaGrange; sons, Tom Render Lashley, Jr. and his wife Christy of Hogansville and Lamar Will Lashley of Franklin; his mother, Annie Ruth Lashley of LaGrange; sisters, Rosie Jane Harris of Opelika, AL and Jeannette Lashley of LaGrange; brothers, Johnny Gable of Atlanta, Hank Lashley of Augusta, and Render Lashley of LaGrange; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Render Lashley. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
